Welcome Home

At Millview, you will find a family of Christians who strive to love as Jesus loved and to follow God’s Word as revealed in the Bible.

Below are answers to some of the questions we are most often asked.

What should I expect when I visit?
Our hope is that you feel welcomed, encouraged, and uplifted as we gather to worship God together.  Each week, our time of worship includes prayer, singing, the Lord’s Supper, an opportunity to give, the sharing of good news, and a message grounded in God’s Word.  Our Sunday morning worship service lasts about one hour.

If you visit our “Guest Services” counter, the attendant can answer any questions you have and direct you anywhere you wish to be.

On Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., we have Bible classes for children and adults of all ages.  Qualified teachers with a record of faithfulness and integrity lead us in conversations about God and Scripture.  After Bible class, at 10:20 a.m., all ages meet in our auditorium for a time of praise and worship.  On Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m., all ages meet in the auditorium for a period of praise and worship.

On Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m., we have Bible classes for children and adults of all ages.  Following Bible class, we have a short devotional period in the auditorium for all ages.
What should I expect during worship?
  • Our Giving - Our giving is a freewill offering and an opportunity for our members to fulfill their responsibilities to the work of the church. It is not a solicitation from our guests. The contribution is taken each Lord’s Day in keeping with the example given in Scripture.  Visitors are invited to be a part of this, but there is no pressure or expectation to participate.
    • 1 Corinthians 16:1–2; 2 Corinthians 9:7
  • Our Prayers – Public prayers are offered humbly and without display, led by one man while the rest of us join together silently.  These prayers rise from sincere hearts as we seek God’s mercy, guidance, and blessings—not only for ourselves, but for all people.
    • James 5:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6
  • A Cappella Singing  - We invite all present to lift their voices in song to our Creator.  We sing a cappella or without the accompaniment of musical instruments.
    • Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 13:15
  • The Lord’s Supper – We take time each and every Sunday to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice by partaking of unleavened bread and grape juice together.  We use individual communion cups that can be picked up in the lobby.  During this time each week, we meditate on the cross, our Savior’s sacrifice, and examine our lives.
    • Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:18-20; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
  • Sermon from our Ministers – Each Sunday, one of our ministers (sometimes guest speakers) brings a lesson from God’s Word.  The messages are designed to teach scripture, encourage, exhort, and help all (including the speaker) better serve and love God and His people.
    • Ephesians 4:11-12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2
What exactly does the name “church of Christ” mean?
This name carries several important meanings, but at heart, it reflects who we belong to and how we strive to live.  The church is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25–27) and we (the church) belong to Him; thus we are the “church of Christ’s.”  Secondly, we are Christians who seek to follow the Bible alone as our guide for faith and practice.  We believe true Christian unity is best found by setting aside personal preferences and traditions and instead embracing what is taught and demonstrated in Scripture.

Each “church of Christ” congregation is autonomous.  We are not governed by a national council, creed, or denominational structure.  Rather, each local church is shepherded by elders who provide spiritual leadership.
How do you address security and safety at Millview?
For the safety of our church family, a dedicated team of members monitors all entrances and oversees our multi-camera security system, installed in late 2024.
